The Central Building of the main campus was designed by the architect Daniel Libeskind in collaboration with students from Leuphana University. The expressive design and materials used - zinc, concrete, and glass - create a counterpoint to the historic structure and barracks architecture of the rest of the campus, which can be seen from afar. The Central Building is thus an important element in the transition from a military to a civilian and democratic use of land and buildings.
Located directly on the ground floor is the Klippo Restaurant, which combines a cafeteria, break room, banquet hall, and function room, offering a wide range of services for students, staff, day visitors, and tourists. In addition, you can find the administration and seminar rooms of the Professional School in the central building.
